Privacy Policy

Electronic Renaissance Inc. · Effective July 10, 2026

This policy explains how Electronic Renaissance Inc. ("Electronic Renaissance", "we", "us") handles personal information in connection with this website (electronicrenaissance.ca) and, unless an application publishes its own privacy policy, the applications we release. We are a Canadian corporation based in Toronto, Ontario, and handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable privacy laws.

The short version: we collect as little as possible. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our applications are designed to process your data on your own device. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information — ever.

1. This website

This website is a static site. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or advertising, and loads no third-party fonts, scripts, or trackers. We do not ourselves collect personal information through the website.

The site is available in English and French. To show you the right language, it may read your browser's language setting, and if you pick a language with the EN/FR switch, that choice is stored only on your own device. Neither piece of information is ever transmitted to us.

The website is served from infrastructure operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Like virtually all web hosting, that infrastructure may generate standard server logs (such as IP address, request time, and browser user agent) for security and operational purposes. We do not use these logs to identify visitors, and they are retained only briefly under AWS's standard practices.

2. Email correspondence

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use that information only to respond to you and to improve our products. We keep support correspondence for up to 24 months so we can follow up on ongoing issues, after which it is deleted. You may ask us to delete your correspondence sooner at any time (see "Your rights" below).

3. Our applications

Each application we publish will link to the privacy policy that governs it from its App Store page and from within the app. Unless an application's own policy states otherwise, the following applies to every application we release:

  • What we collect: nothing. Our applications are designed so that your content and personal information are processed and stored on your own device, or in your own personal cloud storage (such as your iCloud account) under your control. We do not operate servers that receive your personal data, and no personal information is transmitted to us.
  • How we use data: data you create in an app is used solely to provide the app's features to you, on your device.
  • Third parties: we do not share personal information with third parties, and our applications do not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. If a future product ever relies on a third-party service, its privacy policy will identify that service, and we will require that it protect your data to at least the standard described here.
  • Retention and deletion: because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it. Deleting content within an app, or deleting the app itself, removes the data it stored on your device (and, where applicable, you can remove app data from your iCloud account in Settings). We hold nothing on our side to delete.
  • Purchases: payments are processed by Apple. We receive only aggregated, anonymized sales reporting from Apple — never your name, payment details, or Apple Account information.

4. Your rights

You may withdraw consent to our handling of your personal information, ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Because we hold essentially nothing beyond email correspondence, such requests are usually simple and fast. Write to our privacy officer (below) and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

5. Children

Our website and applications are intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; given the design described above, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

6. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes affecting a specific application will also be reflected in that application's own privacy policy before they take effect.
